UCLA Nondiscrimination Statement
UCLA, in accordance with applicable Federal and State law and University policy, does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, citizenship, national or ethnic origin, ancestry (including caste and actual or perceived shared ancestry or ethnic characteristics or citizenship or residency in a country with a dominant religion or distinct religious identity), sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, lactation or related medical conditions), gender, gender identity, gender expression, gender transition, sexual orientation, physical or mental disability (including having a history of a disability or being regarded as being disabled), medical condition (cancer-related or genetic characteristics), predisposing genetic information (including family medical history), marital status, age (at least 40 years of age), veteran or military status, or other bases protected by the University of California Anti-Discrimination Policy and the University of California Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment Policy (UC Nondiscrimination Policies), or federal or state law (hereafter referred to as Protected Characteristics). UCLA also prohibits discrimination or harassment because of a combination of these Protected Characteristics or based on an individual’s association or relationship with an individual or individuals who have, or who are perceived to have, one or more Protected Characteristics.
The UC Nondiscrimination Policies cover students, including applicants who become students and former students; employees; and third parties (such as contractors, volunteers, vendors, visitors, guests, and patients), and acts of harassment or discrimination committed against students, employees, and third parties in University programs and activities.
The University also prohibits retaliation against any individual for making a good faith report of discrimination or harassment, or for participating in a resolution process under any University of California Nondiscrimination Policies.

UC Anti-Discrimination Policy and Grievance Procedures
The UC Anti-Discrimination Policy prohibits discrimination and harassment based on all Protected Characteristics, as well as related retaliation arising from protected activity under the policy. The policy also defines how the University will respond to reports of prohibited conduct.
Conduct that is prohibited by the Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment Policy (e.g., sexual violence and sexual harassment) is governed by that policy, as described below.
UC Sexual Violence Sexual Harassment Policy and Grievance Procedures
The UC Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment Policy prohibits sex-based misconduct, such as sexual violence, sexual harassment, invasion of sexual privacy, indecent exposure, relationship violence, stalking and retaliation against individuals involved in reporting or for participating in an investigation. It also defines how the University will respond to reports of such prohibited conduct.
